On June 23, 2011, an historic accord was signed at the Canadian Model Forest Network Annual General Meeting hosted this year in the Prince Albert Model Forest, Saskatchewan. The Trilateral Collaboration Agreement is the first of its kind linking three Model Forests: Araucarias del Alto Malleco Model Forest in Chile, Vilhelmina Model Forest in Sweden and Prince Albert Model Forest in Canada.
The agreement outlines the basis of working together on joint priority areas such as ecological goods and services and indigenous peoples within the context of sustainable landscape planning and good governance.
